C.i.P is coming to town!
Hello,I am Chee May and I am here to post about my previsit post.I remembered
last time,when i was in primary school i was given a chance to visit the old
folks home at Bedok.Before we go there,we are supposed to do some preparations
for the elderly such as 'singsation' time, games and some foods that we can
donate to help the elderly.Things that can be donated can be canned foods
Milo,cereal,adult diapers and toilet rolls.Our teacher told us that the elderly will feel happy as long as we did our best to help them.
Now,I can again have a chance to visit the elderly and i feel happy and excited.
I had been thinking of what i had did with the elderly last time
when we pay a visit at the old folks home these few days.The activities that
we did with them are chatting,to have a performance for them such as playing the instrument like Erhu and singing songs.Thus i hope that i will be
able to do all these things when i go for the c.i.p that is coming soon.
Before the c.i.p, we are supposed to find and contact a organisation that need
our volunteering.Thus, after we managed to find a organisation named Lions Home
For the Elderly,located at Tao Payoh Rise,we asked the person in-charge Miss Jereen
if we can volunteer our help in the old folks home.And of course,she said okay
and we felt happy as we finally managed to find a organisation because we had
already contacted many organisations before we finally found one.Miss Jereen told
us that we will be there to conduct a quality check on the chopsticks that will be sell to the public.The chopsticks are very unique and special and there are about
six pair of chopsticks in a gift set.We are supposed to check that the chopsticks
are in good quality such as there are no cracks,the colour of the chopsticks are even and no white spots etc.The chopsticks are to be sell to public and people can
buy it as a gift or to use it.Miss Jereen told us that it will be best if many
people can buy the gift as the money that earn will be use for the elderly funds
such as improving their facilities for the elderly to live in.Thus,I hope many
people will purchase the chopsticks as they can do some good deeds and at the
same time,enjoy using the chopsticks!
Now as for me,althought after hearing the news that we would not be able to have
much time interacting with the elderly as we are supposed to check on the chopsticks,but i think that it is still meaningful as we get to do some part by ensuring the chopsticks are in good quality so as to raise some funds for the elderly.I hope that the funds that they get for selling the chopsticks will be in good use such as providing the elderly a better place to live in.
Also,i hope that i will have a great time there and enjoy my c.i.p!
